Below is my Contact Lens Brand Selection Guide. You’ll notice the first thing that is required of you is to determine whether or not you have astigmatism. To learn more about astigmatism, read this article, but a quick way to find out if you have astigmatism or not is to look at your contact lens prescription and locate the number under the ‘cylinder’ column. If that number is -0.75 or higher, you have astigmatism. If your ‘cylinder’ number is less than -0.75, you have a little bit of astigmatism, but you probably won’t need a brand for astigmatism, and if you have no numbers in the ‘cylinder’ boxes, you don’t have astigmatism.
Keep in mind that this guide is only meant to help you narrow down which brand you think would work best for you. Once you have selected one, it is important to visit your eye doctor so that he/she may assess the fit and performance of that brand on your eyes in order to ensure that you will be able to wear them safely.
